A Local’s Guide to Eating and Takeaways Near 1 Kilbourn Street, Nottingham

What this guide covers

This short guide helps guests at Kilbourn Street find reliable places to eat, drink and order in. You’ll get quick ideas for grab-and-go cafés, casual pubs, sit-down restaurants and takeaway options that are convenient for groups and late arrivals. Practical tips explain how to order for multiple people and where to pick up essentials.

How far to the main eating areas

The house sits a short walk from Nottingham’s main dining streets. Guests have described the city centre as reachable on foot — roughly a 15–25 minute walk depending on pace — while a range of shops and takeaways are close by for quicker options. If you prefer not to walk, short taxi or delivery options are widely available.

Quick takeaways nearby

For fast, budget-friendly meals, you’ll find local takeaways within a short stroll of the property. Expect familiar choices such as pizza, kebab, fish-and-chip shops and classic Chinese or Indian takeaways. These are ideal for late arrivals, relaxed nights in, or when your group needs something simple and shareable.

Cafés and breakfast spots

If you’re after good coffee or a hearty breakfast, look for nearby cafés that offer grab-and-go pastries, brunch plates and seating for small groups. Many cafés open early and are friendly to people dropping in before heading into the city. The property’s fully equipped kitchen also makes it easy to prepare breakfast if you prefer to eat in.

Pubs and relaxed evening dining

There are plenty of casual pubs and taverns within walking distance where groups can enjoy pub food, local beers and a relaxed atmosphere. Pubs are a solid option for an informal meal with space for groups, and they usually welcome walk-ins off-peak. On event nights, it’s wise to call ahead and reserve a table.

Restaurants for groups or special nights out

For sit-down meals — think Italian, modern British or pan-Asian — head toward the busier dining areas in the city centre. These spots work well for celebrations or when you want a fuller menu and seated service. If you’re visiting during a venue event (for example at the Motorpoint Arena), book in advance to avoid queues.

Late arrivals and after-hours options

If you arrive late, delivery apps are a simple solution. Local couriers commonly deliver pizzas, burgers and takeaway classics well into the evening. You’ll also usually find at least one late-night takeaway or convenience store nearby for essentials and snacks. If you need a specific recommendation, the host can point you to current late-night options.

Ordering for groups: practical tips

When feeding a group, consider ordering from places that offer large sharable dishes or set menus to simplify choices. Consolidate orders to a single pickup time if someone will collect. Ask for extra napkins and disposable cutlery if needed. Communicate dietary needs up front so the kitchen can accommodate larger orders more easily.

Groceries and cooking at the property

Kilbourn Street has a fully equipped shared kitchen, so buying groceries and cooking can be an economical and comfortable option for groups. There are supermarkets and convenience stores within easy reach for basics like milk, bread and drinks. Cooking also gives you more control over timing — useful for staggered arrivals or early departures.

Final tips and host help

One recent guest noted that although the city centre is a walk away, shops and takeaways are very close by — a handy combination for visitors who want both quick options and the full dining scene. If you’re unsure where to go, ask the host for real-time recommendations and any current favourites for group orders or late-night snacks.

Customer review

(Pros) Fantastic place to stay for the weekend. Property was immaculate and communication with the host was brilliant. Very nice to have toiletries included and also complimentary teas/coffees for the morning. Little bit away from the city centre (25 minute walk) but there are shops/takeaways close by if needed. Would definitely stay again. Thank you! (Cons) Nothing!
